Quite large cacti (up to 1,5 m tall) inhabiting terrain around Argentinean city of Mendoza. Flowers funnel shaped, red, strong, beautiful spines, red or orange in colour. Care like in case of other Andean species – full sun, better out than in a glasshouse, a lot of water but in long intervals, cold winter.
