Glandulicactus

Today it is a Sclerocactus, tomorrow – nobody knows. This is the reason for using the traditional name. Rather small egg-shaped cacti from southern USA and Mexico, with prominent spines and nectar-extracting glands over their areoles. Not the easiest to grow, open potting mix, not too frequent watering, a lot of sun and a greenhouse, if possible – these are success conditions. Handle with care – the spines are worse than cat’s claws!
